Do you work with clients who live in Toronto or the GTA?
Absolutely. Many of our clients live in the GTA while building or renovating properties in Muskoka. We can guide the design process remotely and coordinate meetings as needed throughout the project.
Can you help with waterfront properties?
Yes. We have experience designing projects for waterfront and rural properties throughout Muskoka. Every site presents unique opportunities and constraints, and we tailor each design to the property's characteristics.
What is included in your cottage design services?
Our services can include feasibility studies, concept design, floor plans, elevations, 3D renderings, permit drawings, and coordination with consultants as required.
When should I start planning a new cottage project?
We recommend starting the design process as early as possible, ideally 12–18 months before your desired construction start date. This allows adequate time for design development, permit approvals, consultant coordination, and builder selection.
Do I need permit drawings for a new cottage?
Most new cottages and major additions require building permit approval. We prepare permit-ready drawings that meet municipal and Ontario Building Code requirements.
How long does the design process take?
Timelines vary depending on the size and complexity of the project. During our initial consultation, we'll discuss your goals and provide an estimated schedule for the design and permit process.
Can you design guest bunkies, garages, or accessory buildings?
Yes. In addition to custom cottages, we design a variety of accessory structures including guest bunkies, garages with living space, and other cottage property improvements.
